EMPIRE .MATCH RESULTS. Eighty of the Secondary Schools of the Empire competed on Empire Daylast year in a rifle match, and the results have now reached New Zealand, where 17 schools competed against the schools in Great Britain, Australia, India,, and South Africa, numbering 80 in all. Wanganui College did - extremely well, and: the place gained by this school is made more interesting here, by the iact-that a South Canterbury boy,, lloland S. Barker,. ;i son of Mr J. M. Barker, of Waahi, Woodbury, materially helped ,to gain it. Barker made the third best individual: score in the Empire match, English boy scored 70, ail Indian 69.. Barker 68.

.A miniatuTa rifle match was fired at Winchester on' Thursday night between the South Canterbury Reserve Corps and -the Winchester -Morris Tube<Chib. •The Club had the loan, of the miniature rifle belonging to the Temuka Club and made a much better score with it than they: could have done witli- the Morris tube. <■., At Geraldine the Winchester - team made 289 with the; Morris tube, at Winchester -, '329 points. with the miniature rifle. ; This shows what an.advantage the Temuka :Club had . over the • others' in the As•sociation championslup matches. . • Tho scores on.
