CYCLING.
TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 16. At a conference this morning between tli© League of New Zealand Wheelmen, represented by. Messrs Wood, Harding, and Murray, of Christchurch, and. New Zealand Athletic Union represented by Messrs Keast, Corcoran (Dunedin) and Woods (Invercargill) a motion was moved by Mr Keast and carried that those present be a committee to formulate a scheme to amalgamate, or otherwise with a view to reducing the cost of the government of sport in the Dominion. It was pointed out that the multiplication of governing bodies was a hardship on the societies, and various branches of sport suffered in this direction.
