The District' Hig- School which has been closed on account of measles, reopened on Tuesday, lastiThe- Iqjver department of the school does not'reopen until* Monday next. Nelligan, to replace those which were destroyed by fire some time ago. ..At a. meeting of the Pleasant Point Town Board held on Tuesday night all the members - were present. A letter was received from the Saleyards Company complaining of water not . getting away from the road near the saleyards as it should do.—The Works Committee was asked to see to this. —Jtfr A. Adamson wrote asking for a crossing into his property.—Held over pending the receipt of a man of the district.— A -letter was received from" tho "Tiniaru Herald" offering a subsidy of £25 towards the cost of p. daily mail service between Timara : and Pleasant Point.—lt was decided to leave this matter to the public meeting which is to be held shortly to consider it. — Messrs D. Friel, .P. Rowe, and B. O'Rourk'e interviewed the. Board in regard to a drain near their Held over.—Tho chairman was authorised to 'get a light ladder for the lamplighter.—lt was decided that for Nelson's creek bridge, railjvay iron be used for piles, and. that tenders be called, these to be in by next meeting. An offer from Mrs Geaney to let premises for an office at 7s per week, was declined, it being agreed that the office now in nse should be retained. — For clearing gorse on the railway facing, nine tenders, ranging from 2s 3d to 5s 3d per chain, were received, and it was decided to jiccont that of "W - Lund at 2s 3d.—Accounts amounting to £3O 14s 9d were passed for payment and the meeting closed.
