STABBING AFFRAY.
KOW IN A WHARK. J'er Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 29. News was received from Helensville that a serious stabbing affray had oc-. curred at Kumeu on Monday night, the victim being a man named J. Hansen Scott. Scott and a man named J. Nelson were drinking in the hitter's wharc and quarrelled, and it is alleged th.sl Nelson got on top of Scott- and inflicted nearly a flozen wounds on various parts of his body with a knife. After the attack Scott crawled into the bush and remained there all night in an unconscious condition, being discovered early this morning and taken to the hospital. Nelson is said to have taken his arrest very quietly, remarking. '"1 suppose I will get a year or two for this."
