HOCKEY.
THURSDAY'S FIXTURES. The following are the fixtures and referees for next Thursday's games:--Ladies.—-To Kangi v. Avoea A, at "15 Hiirdlev's (Mr Keith); Wimmera v' Hi"h School. at 3.15, Murdley's (Mr Keith); Timaru v. Rawhiti, at 3 15, Square (Air Warhurton); Pioneer v. Avoca B, at 3.15, Temuka (Mr Lashlie); Ruahine A and Ruahme B byes. ... 1 1 o i - Men. —Timaru v. Jemuka A, Temuka (Air Lashlie); Geraldinc Ay. Geraldine B. at 2.15 (Air Feelcy): Ie Kangi v. V.M.C.A., at 2.15, Square (Air "Smith); Temuka B a bye. Members of xhe Tnnaru Hockey Club (men's) will meet for practice on the Bay this evening. A meeting will be held afterwards, at which a full attendance is requested. It was intended to play the match Rawhiti v. Timaru on the Athletic Ground, but on account of the rain that ground will be impossible to he played on, as it is badly drained. It was, therefore, decided to play it on the Square, and a collection in aid of the funds of the Hockey Association will be taken up. The Committee wish to meet with liberal support, as they have practically no revenue this season to assist them to meet expenses. MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. At the weekly meeting of the Hockey Association, Air Keith, referee m the match played last week between Timaru and Geraldinc, reported that he had to order a Gcraldine player off the ground for disputing his decision. He also warned the whole team for continual talking. The Committee decided to disoualify H. Gracie for one playing Thursday, and to warn a l players (men ana ladies) that any further complaints will be more severely dealt witii, as they are determined in the interests of hockey to put their feet down on this practice. A letter was read from the Wangamli Hockey Association intimating tliat they were sending a team on tour, and would like to play the S.C. Association if possible. it 'was decided to reply ix-cepting the invitation to a match. In reference to a protest by Temuka A against Ueraldine B, in last Thursday's match, it was decided to postpone the matter until next meeting, when tne referee and a representative Irom Temuka will be invited to attend.
