GERALDINE NOTES.

The newly-formed brass band is now well under'way, and it is hoped soon to have the band in a thorough state of efficiency. Mr W. N. Jones, proprietor of the Arundel Hotel (one of those, which has just been closed) intends leaving shortly for the West Coast. The delegates from Milton who visited Gcrakline with the object of enquiring into and reporting upon the working of the acetylene light there. wito very favourably impressed with what they saw <jf the light in Oer—aldinc. At Winchester "» Friday evening last, members of the choir of St. John's Church, presented one of their Yiumber, Miss Nellie Opie, with a substantial token of their appreciation of her valuable services as assistant at the organ, and leader of the choir.
