Tbe Hon. J. A. Millar, who had been indisposed of lace, was so far recovered on Saturday as to bo able to go for a drive. Mr Millar left .Wellington last night for Hunediii. He is to open the new dry dock at Port Chalmers to-morrow.
Richard Arnst, the sculling champion, arrived in Wellington from YValign uui last night, accompanied by u'loyd, Fogwcll and Jack Arnst. A large crowd met the party at the station, . Jupp's band assisting. The champion was escorted to ins hotel, where th*» Hon. T. MaeKenzie extended a welcome to hini. The champion goes on to Christchurch in a day or two
