ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Peter's Anglican Church, Temuka, was held on Tuesday night. There was a large, attendance, and the Rev. J. M. Adcocfc, vicar, presided. The Sunday Schools were in good order, but Dr Crawshaw had resigned the superintendency which was to be regretted. Mr Reeves had succeeded him. The Mite Society had done good work again, but there was not- much fresh to report from the Ladies Guild. New water tanks were added to the vicarage during the year while repairs were effected to the church also. Reference was made to the death of Mrs Meyer and Mr Ragan Williams during the year, and a welcome was extended to a number of new parishioners. The report concluded with a word of praise to the choir and organist for their good work. The parishioners' warden read the church' balance sheet and regretted that the finances were not healthier, attributing to the general, tightness of money the falling off in the revenue. The gross receipts for the year amounted to £470 lis 9d, as against £547 17s 7d last year, which leaves a debit balance of £2O 17s Id, as against a credit of £25 Is Id in 1908. The liability on the parish hall had been reduced by £64 to £126. The approximate indebtedness of the parish at date is £525 14s 2d. Regret is expressed at the re- 1 signation of Mrs W. H. Brown, for many years organist, and who also laboured well on behalf of St. Peters. Thanks are tendered to the choirmaster, Sunday School teachers .he Girls' Friendly . Society, and all others who assisted towards the parish good.—On the motion of Messrs Routledgo and Rutland the reports and balance sheet were adopted. , A discussion ensued'on the matter, of letting the Parish Hall for revenue purposes; some of the parishioners opposing the suggestion, especially as regarded dances. A parishioner wished to test the feeling of the meeting by moving a motion on the; question, but the chairman- over-ruled him and the motion to adopt the report and balancesheet was carried.
