EASTER TOURNAMENT

The Easter, Tournament opened yesterday. The weather in the morning was very pleasant, although hot, and the absence of wind enabled some splendid scores to be. put up in the first Medal Match, the best being: —Barker gross score 83, handicap 5, net score /8; Perry 84, 6, 78; Sommerville 90, 4; 86: Seymour 94, 8, 86; Anderson 102, 16, 86; Marshall 92, 5, 87; Mannering 96, 9, 87; Broadhead 111, 24, 87. In the afternqon a bogey match was played, but the strong nor'-wester that sprang up about 1 p.m. militated against good play, and the best scores returned were: —Somnierville, handicap 3. two down; Barker 4, two down; Hassell 12, three down; Kempthome 6, five down.
