Several Australians in London suggest that if a public subscription for a Dreadnought is started in Australia, facilities should be offered AngloAustralians to contribute. WARM ADMIRATION. The Council of the Royal Colonial Institute unanimously adopted a resolution expressing their warm admiration of the generous offers of the overseas dominions to co-operate with the Motherland in the naval defence of the Empire. AUSTRALIA'S INTENTION. Received 4.15 p.m., April 9th. LONDON, April 8. Mr Rason, Agent-General for Western Australia, on being interviewed, said that lie would not be surprised if Western Australia joined New South Wales and Victoria in offering a Dreadnought. Australia's intention was that her battleship should supplement whatever programme the Imperial Government thought necessary, and thus make safety doubly sure. THE AUSTRIAN DREADNOUGHTS. VIENNA, April 8. The newspaper " Zeit" states that Austria will build four Dreadnoughts, which will bo completed by 1&12. Per Press Association. WOODVTLLE, April 8. The Woodville County Council to-day unanimously passed the following resolution —"'That this Council conveys to Sir Joseph Ward, Prime Minister of New Zealand, its appreciation of the

spirit prompting his action in connection with the offer of the Dreadnought as a gift from the Dominion to Great Britain." CHRISTCHURCH, April 8. The Canterbury Branch of the Navy League has convened a public meeting at King Edward barracks on 14th inst. for the purpose of submitting a motion approving of the Government's Dreadnought offers. The Mayor is to preside and among the speakers will be Bishops Julius and Grimes.
