PERSONAL ITEMS.
Messrs C. H. Tripp, solicitor, and E. T. Costello, manager of the iJank of Australasia, with their families left for a visit to the Old- Country on Saturday. They will join the s.s. Whakatane at "Wellington. This steamer will call at Gibraltar to land meat for the garrison there. Mr W. Angus, guard of ,the ballast train, who has been transferred to Christchurcli, was presented by the employees of the train, at Seadown on Saturday, with a set of pipes. Mr J. Hawkin in making the presentation, expressed the hope that these tokens of goodwill would convince the recipient that while in the service he had made many friends.
