The; Canterbury ;Fax-niers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., have received the following cables from their London office, under date March 6th, 1909: — Wheat—The market has declined; mar-ket-very quiet; market affected unfavourably by American market. Mutton—Market dull. Lamb Prime Canterbury lamb delivered Smithfiekf. light. s*d per lb; do. medium, 5 3-16(1 per lb; do.,heavv, -ljd per lb.; market very quiet. _ TATTERS ALL'S HORSE SALE. " The Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association,-report upon'the sale of horses at Tattersall.'s yards on Satur-day/as-follows":—Then? was but a small yarding of horses, the 22 entered for sale comprising draughts chiefly, with small, percentage of hacks and liglit harness sorts. • Bidding was fairly brisk for. good young drafts with trials and sales were effected at £3O, £3S-.atid £4O ; . aged sorts fetched' £lB, £22 and £26.: There was a good enquiry for gobd-harness and spring cart horses, but not. many were offered. -Inferior quality .hacks and aged harness horses changed owners at £6 10s and £7. Two collies were sold <it £1 lis each. Sets of'light harness found buyers at £3, and-£3 10s and a set of heavy, draft harness sold at £3..
PROPERTY SALES. At Tattersall's Laild Sale Rooms 011 Saturday, the Canterbury. Farmers' Co-operative Association, offered for sale, a groomed house and section ivitli ail area .of . 1 rood 13 perches _ facing on Cariipbell street on account of W. G. Robinson. The bidding started at -£•500, and, went up. by £lO bids to £590, at vvlnbh price the property was passed. to Mr Green, The same firm .in conjunction ■ with Messrs Guinness ; and LeCren, Ltd., held a land sale at the latter's auction rooms-in Strathallan street, when Mr A; Barber's property at -Winchester iviiS'put up for sale. Lot 1. 40 acres, was started at £23 and went rapidly to-£2B at which price it was passed to Mr-!' South. Lots'2 and 3 each C 8! acres, niet- with poor response, the first being passed:to Mr J. Cripps at £ls, while no offer was forthcoming for the last. The li years' lease of. the Chilcbtin estate, 828"acres was put up on account of Mrs Cadeir. It was started at 3s, and fell to Mr Davis at os 7d per acre per- annum. •
