LAND SALES. • Leslie O'Callagbah and Co. report liaving sold the following farms at satisfactory prices:—On account Mr George Miller, the. balance of Strathnbon estate, as follows: —Block 3, 160 acres, to Mr Ben Steffens; block 2, 81 acres, to Mr Thos. Bean; Block 4, 20 acres, to Mr W. Medlieott. On account of Mr Thos. Bean, his l.i.p. dairy farm at Hook to Mrs M. Guthrie. ST. ANDREWS SALE. The usual fortnightly sale was held at St! Andrews saleyards yesterday. The. yarding submitted to auction was small, and the attendance of buyers limited, consequently bidding was rather slow. Sales iwere made as follows:—100 lanlbs at 10s 7d, 100 at 10s !ad,487 at 10s 4d. 50 at 10s 2<T, 45 at llsj 200 s.m. ewes at 13s, pen at 14s 2d, 30 small two-tooth ewes at 14s, 80 s.m. ewes at 15s lid, 21 old ewes at Ss' Bd, pen two-tooth ewes (good) at 19s 2d, pen wethers at lis 2d. THE GRAI&'MARKETS. . Grain- growers in South Canterbury are jubilant over the .firmer tendency on the Home and Australian markets for; wheat; and they are looking forward now to getting 4s per bushel for their grain. Some, however, disposed of their grain before it was cut at 3s Gd per bushel. Some disappointment was expressed on Thursday last when the information was published that the New Zealand Flourmillers' Association had lftwercd the price of flour, the suggestion being made that this bad been done with a view to bringing down the price of wheat. Farmers were reassured, however, when a correction came through, stating that flour had not been reduced. Merchants are not very keen to buy here, as they are very suspicious of the stookthreshed grain which is offering. Most of the wheat bought here has been sent south. Up to 3s 9d per •bushel bas been paid, but those who are holding now are looking for a little more than this. In oats a quiet business is passing, is 3d, country stations, sacks oid! being obtainable. Holders of prime lines, however, are asking is 6d. - Potatoes are plentiful, and are now only commanding £3 per ton.
