PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mr and Mrs W. H. Triggs, Mr J. S. Triggs, and Miss Dumbell, all of Christchurcli, are at present at Mt. Cook. The Hon. J. A. Millar in pursuance of his work of inspecting the railways in the South Island, will visit Timaru on March Bth. Mr G. W. Forbes. M.P., for Hurumii, is at present spending a holiday in Timaru as the guest of Mr E. W. Wade. Mr Henry Eaton, manager for Dalgety and Co., Ltd., left by the first express yesterday on holiday leave, un-til-the middle of March. Mr W, K. Maedonald and family, of Geraldine, will be leaving next month with the object of making an extended stay in England. Colonel Moore, of Geraldine, also purposes taking a trip to England at an early date. Mr Alec. Munro„ linotypist, who left Timaru for Chicaga nearly three years ago, has just returned to New Zealand and settled, at Christchurcli. He ran down to Timaru yesterday to see his brother and look tip old friends. Mr Munro had a good time in America, and has brought back a wife as well as a bundle of valuable and interesting experiences.

Sir Charles Berkeley, representative of J. C. Williamson's' Musical Comedy Company, is in town, having arrived from Wellington, to make arrangements for the appearance on Monday, March Bth, of this famous company in the charming Dutch musical play "The Red Mill." The hoardings in town are already decorated with pictures of the Red Mill, and if the play is as striking as a play as these are as posters, it must draw.
