BRASS BAND CONTEST.
Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Feb. 'Jo. Large and apijreciativc audiences have attended all the events, and the financial success of the band contest is assured. The gates at the garden party on Tuesdav Vealised £92, and the quickstep contest £IOJ. The total lees and season tickets, amount to £430. The first tests of A and B grades will be held to-night at the racecourse, which will be electrically lighted. The weather is fine, and it is anticipated that there will be a record attendance. Further results are as follows:—Ji, Venson (Stratford) 79. B flat bass— \V. Penhall <A\ anganui) (Petone) 81, fci. Signal (Wanganui) 80, flat bass competition —A. Gunner 73, G. Clavton (Gisborne) 66. ,
