The Rev. H. Daniels, of .tjie Primitive* Methodist charges at Island Bay, Wellington, leaves for Temuka, to-day. The Rev. W. Saunders, who is well known in Timaru,: has. been granted an eight months' holiday by the Moray Place Congregational Church, in which to make a trip to'the homeland. Arthur Lewis, of .the Tc'niuka District High School, , who . got into the credit list, at the .recent Junior Civil Service .examinations! has received notice of an appointment- in-, the Treasury Department,. .Wellington.. An Auckland ~ message says : —The Mayor of Auekland (Mr Arthur M. Myers), who vacates that'position on Thursday.- in order to proceed : on. a trip to'the OklCountry, took leave of the citizens last-night at an immense- gathering in - Albert Park. An address was presented:to Mr Myers by Mr L. J. Ba'gnall, president,' of the Chamber of Commerce, on• behalf of numerous subscribers, and , the Mayor was also the recipient,from- the. Auckland Provincial hands' Association of n. largo shield hearing pliotograplips of the- members of-the • Association, and of the Mavor and Mrs Myers. v It was mentioned that during his four years of office the Mayor lias .contributed £BSO to the fund's.of the-Bands' Association. Mr Myers was also pre-sented-with an address -from the snlmr* tiau local bodies.-, . ■..
