_ WELLINGTON CARNIVAL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 21. At the Wellington Swimming Club's carnival on Saturday, the principal events resulted as follows—--50 Y arils Ladies' Bracelet. —Mawby -~\l, Bridge 2, Kivell 3. Time 29 3-psec. 100 Yards President's Handicap. Ashford 1, McLeod 2, Johnstone 3. A good race, won by a touch. Time, lmin 12 2—ssec. 440 Yards Handicap.—First Heat: Arthur _(92sec) 1, Watson (92) 2, Delany (150) 3. Time, 7min 50 3-ssec. Second Heat: R. Healy (scr) 1, W r ard <2oscc) 2, Freyburg (Bsec) 3. Time, Gmin 2sec. The second heat provided a great race, the two first men swimming abreast the whole of the last length, and the champion got home by a touch, with Freyburg about a foot away. Henley's time was remarkably good, and the best he has yet put up, beating his record at Timaru a few days ago by 6 2-ssec seconds. The final will be swum to-morrow afternoon.
