SHOOTING.
S.C.M.R, On Thursday afternoon the 5.M.11.C. fired at 200, 500 and 600 yards for trophies presented by Sergt. Prmgle and at 700 yards for trophies presented by Lieut. Bowie and Mr J. Rodgers. This range was also the final for Mrs Whittaker's Cup aggregate. The following are the highest scores: Sergt. Pringle's Aggregate; 7 shots at 200, 500 and 600 yards.

TIMAHTJ CITY RIFLES. The members of tlie above company concluded the firing for the medal given by Mr Randle for the highest scorer in ten coal petitions, viz: —2 each at 200 and 500, and 3 each at 600 and 700. The matches were nominated so that the more consistent shots would supersede the others. Other prizes were givt>n by Messrs .T, H. Rodgers, Adams, Ltd., and T. Wagstaff.
