Bower claimed £2.from Theophilus Best for committing a breach of the Christchurch tailoring award in working for £1 7s 6d instead of £2 15s per week, as the award provided. Mr W. H. Haggar appeared for the Department, and defendant was fined 10s. Bower claimed £lO from C. Andrews and Co. for a breach of the same award, in employing apprentices. The firm was also charged with a breach of-'tho award in respect of Best, fine of 40s, without costs, was inflicted in each case.
