WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. The weather for the holiday to*celcbratc the anniversary of Wellington province was marred by a fierce .northerly gale, though there was rio ram until evening. The water in the narbour was very choppy for the local regatta, and some events had to bo postponed. The only other of note was the race meeting at.-J.ron-tham. _,
