The Premier (sir Joseph Ward) was kept busy almost all this morning jeceivmg callers. Sir Joseph leaves on -vionuuy for u ellmgxoit, «n.er u uixioi' trip to Akaroa. Mr C. Cook v-Mayor of Lyttelton) saw Sir Joseph this morning with respect to the statements in the "newspapers regarding the probable discontinuance of the late train to and from Lyttelton on Sundays. Mr Cook said that while he had no wish to interfere with the department's policy, he would like to point out that the late trains on Sunday were very largely used by both Christcliurch and Lyttelton residents and he hoped that nothing would be done fn the matter of discontinuing the trains until after full enquiry. Sir Joseph stated that he would place Mr Cook's representations " lie 'ore his colleague, the Minister for Railways.
