An exhibition of Miltonia, and the inauguration at the British Academy of snecial lectures, marked the opaning of the Milton tercentenary in London yesterday. BARNATO BEQUESTS. Mr Harry Barnato bequeathed his daughter, Mrs Asher, £1,000,000, and other bequests of a quarter of a million are devoted to charity iii_-memory nf-Barney Barnato and Woolf Joel. Received 1.10 a.m., Dec. 10th. DIRECT FREIGHT LINE. The Hull Chamber of Commerce ami Shipping unanimously recommended the establishment of a direct line of freight steamers to "Australia; to be fitted with refrigerating " accommodation.' The president said he understood- that the Australian Government were inclined to assist any steamship company who were prepared to run such a line. CHARITABLE GIFT. BERLIN, Dec. 9.
