SOUTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The annual general meeting of the South Canterbury Cricket Association was held on Monday evening, tlie President (l)r C. E. Thomas) in the chair. The report on the operations of the pa** season made reference to the unsatisfactory posirion arising out of the iuateh played >ome two seasons ago against the M.C.C. team' then on tour. It was decided to recommend the incoming committee to approach the guarantors and explain the position fully to them, and endeavour to effect a satisfactory »ett lenient of the difficulty. Tire annual election of officers resulted ;t> follows: President, Dr Thomas (re-elect-ed) ; vice-presidentr>, Colonel Moore ami DrCox tie-electedl ; committee. Dr Loughnan. Messrs K. Rain. T. Blanehett ami ex-officio members; sole selector, Mr T. Lynch (re-elected): lion. sec. and treaa., Mr T. Jordan (re-elected); delegate- to New Zealand Cricket Council. Mr Eric Harper. The prospects for the ensuing season are very bright and from present indications there should be a junior competition this season, with an many competing teams as the senior grade. Two new clubs were represented at the meeting iTimaru High School and South End), and it is anticipated that teams from Winchester, Woodbury, and Pareora East will be competing.
