A special meeting of the Timaru Borough Council wiiii held last night to receive and pa*s the balance t-hc-i fur 19078. as audited and certified. There w;.s ;i good attendance. BALANCE SHEKT AND "TAG."

The Mayor stated that'lhe balance sheet, was certified by the Auditor-General except for one "'tag." that, including Illsubsidy to the bands, the Council had exceeded the amount allowed by section 159 for special expenditure by £l3 7s.
