MAIN TRUNK LINE.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 21. The Council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce dealt with a, communication from, the AVhangarei Chamber concerning the extension of the- north trunk line. The communication stated that at a, ;eonfcieneed held at Whangarci on July 16th decisions had been come to that tho time had arrived for a united effort by the Auckland members of Parliament to secure a. substantial vote of nob less than £150.000 a year for tho expeditious purMiaucc of the trunk line north of Auckland, from WelLsford to Maungaturoto, and that the Government should Ije asked to build this line before the end of 1909. 'The chairman (Mr L. J. Bagnall) described the agitation as one which the members were all in sympathy with, and moved that a communication should be sent to the Government in support of the •agitation for tho extension of the line. The motion was carried.
