Roderick Campbell, a man aged 25, grazed his knee a fortnight ago when playing football. Two days later, symptoms, of blood poisoning developed, from which he died last night.
WELLINGTON, August 19. An inquest was held to-day on the body of Rosabel Eyron,' a nurse, who v 10 days ago swallowed twelve tabloids of perchloiido of 'mercury. This is 96 times the usual dose prescribed by the medical profession for a patient. It. was shown that deceased had been working hard and her nerves were ilnstrung. A verdict of suicide While temporarily insane was returned 1 . DUNEDIN. August 19. George Wilson, aged 60 years, residing at Pert Chalmers, met with a- serious accident on the Rimutaka this afternoon. He had been, below and when coming up through the hatch he fell heavily into the hold. He was removed to the hospital unconscious, and'is in a very critical condition. A man named Geo. McKinnon, a_ged 55 years> who met with serious injuries last night 1 through falling 30 feet down the hold l of the Moeraki on which he was night watchman, is in the hospital in an unconscious condition. It-is thought that he is suffering from concussion of the brain.
