WASHDYKE FAT STOCK MARKET. The usual weekly sale was held at the above yards yesterday. The yarding was a moderate one, barely sufficient to fill butchers' requirement*, consequently a good sale was the result. The following sales -were madia at auction:—l 4 wetheis at 16s, 56,d0. at 18s, 50 -ewes at 15s, 14 prime ewes at 17s, 32 ewes at 14s, 7 do. at 15s, 21 do. at 15s 6d, 17 wethers at 17s lid, 29 ewts at 15s 6d, 16 wethers at 21s 6d, 16 ewes at 13s lid, 5 wethers at 15s 9d, 23 wethers at 170 3d, 21 do. at 20s 6d, I' 6 do. at 18s. THE CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. Per Press Association. CHBISTCHURCH, July 28. There is no business to report in the grain market, everything being practically at a standstill. There is very little demand for chaff and few orders are coming in for potatoes, as buyers lately obtained Mipplies from stocks bild in store by merchants. The Auckland people are Loping that the American fleet will require 100 tons but nothing definite will be known till it arrives. This quantity will Lave little effect upon the markets in face of the supplies that have gone forward. In the meantime local prices are easier though there are not many potatoes offering by growers.
