The s.s. Rosamond was expected to, leave Grevmouth for Timaru at 10 o'clock last night. She has 100,000 feet of timber, and about 100 tons of coal to land here, and is due about Friday next. The 6.6. Whangape was ordered on to Dtmedin from Wellington, and sailed for the former port at 5.30 a.m. yesterday. It k therefore unlikely that she will arrive here before Saturday. The steamer Putiki was found by the Oreti to have stripped some of her propeller blades and was towed on to Astrolabe near Farewell Spit, where an attempt was to be made to fix spare blades. Later the Putiki steamed passed Farewell Spit and signalled all well.
