A WOMAN GUILLOTINED

Two hundred spectators witnessed the guillotining of Crete Breir in the courtgard of the gaol at Frieberg. The murderess met her doom in a petitent and composed attitude. Grete Brier, 22 yearg of age, was the daughter of a "'former burgomaster of Brand, 'Saxony. She was sentenced to death on July L?t, for killiilg Pressler, her fiance, at Chemnitz. She; litis been described as " a : good-looking girl, a 'typical bloiidei blue-eyed" Saxon. She was noted in Brand for her good humour, friendly disposition, arid tasteful clothes. She confessed l that she had killed Pressler, an engineer, having forged his will, written a letter indicating that he'had taken his own life,; and left a pistol beside his body in a .position suggesting suicide. *'""'- :'S* :
