SYMONDS COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Per Press Association. G-ISBORNE, July 21. Walter Rvmonds was charged at the Police Cour't with shooting Mary Agnus Petersen at Pakarae, on June 9th. _ M.ia Petersen, detailed the: incident of. the shooting, and was not ■ cross-examined. Evidence was given by Dr Collins as to the extent of the wounds* and by Haroid Millstead Groom, who was present immediately after the shooting, and touk the revolver from accused, the latter remarking, "It is all right, Harry, I know what I have done." Nurse Gardiner deposed that she extracted the bullet from the roof of the girl's mouth. ' John Robert Nicholls deposed that he eold accused on June Bth, the revolver produced. John R. Shaw, licence, of the hole], deposed that when he arrived on the iscene he asked accused, "Did you do that," and he replied, "1, did it, Mr Shaw, and amnot sorry for it." Detective Rawle deposed that when was charged with Ihe offence he replied, "I don't know," and twenty minutes later said, "I suppose you will put me in my place for a year or two for this, and probably give me the rope." Constable Dandy deposed that the day accused asked whether the girl would get better, he added, "My God, I am sony I did it now; I see her lying there like that," and subsequently remarked "I suppcee I will get ten years for this, if Minnie ge 's better." Prisoner, who was represented by counsel, -reserved his defence, and was committed for trial.
