Grey, Minister for Foreign Affairs, stated that tie Persian troops which surrounded the British Legation at Teheran had been withdrawn. The British Government re- . quired a written guarantee for the safety of the. lives and property of refugees before thiy quit the Legation, and in the case of 'those accused of crime as distinct from political • offences, assurances that they would'have a fair trial wherfeat a member of the Legation would be present. The statement was received; with cheers. The "'Daily Telegraph" says that Bri, tain and Rnssia aire in close and amicable accord on the Persian crisis.
