HOCKEY.

The Rawhiii Hockey Club left for Christchurch by the lirst express yesterday with a view to playing a series of mutches with tiie various ladies clubs in the Cathedral City. The visitors intend being away for more than a week, and have arranged for a match every day during their absence. The following will represent, the Wimmera Hockey Club in their match against Geraldine at Timaru on Monday afternoon —Misses G. Albert, L. Hurdley, N. Sullivan, M. .Shea, E. Dobier, O. Bradley, G. Bradley, G. Albert, K. Sullivan, X. Burke, F. Mason, X. Shea: emergencies— M. Sullivan, J. Head, L. Wall. The following will represent the Timaru Ladies' Hockey Club in their match againxt Ashburton on Monday:—Goal keeper, W. Brooks; three-quarteu?, G. McWhirter and A. Rodgers; half backs, J.. Walton. K. Cowan, and J. Allen; forwards, J. Mcßae, M. Auld,' I). McWhirter. 2y. .Stuart; A. L. Howens (captain). Emergencies, R. Rodgers, .). Anderson. M. Fraser, and C. Groves.

• A match was played between the Timaru Hockey Club and Wesley Hockey Club on Thursday afternoon on the latter club's grounds, Otipua Road, and resulted in a For Timaru Gracie scored the two goals, one goal. The game was a very even one. For Timaru Gracie scored he two goals, and for Wesley Vogeler scored. ■ Timaru played at a slight disadvantage being a man shore all through the game. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies and was very much appreciated by the players. Mr A. J. Stephens made an ffficient referee.
