DANXKVIKKK, May 13.
The Hon. B. McXab, Minister ot Lauds, arrived at Dannevirke to-day. He visited the ritle range in reference to a request by the volunteers for extended area and facilities and agreed to consider the provision of a further ten acres. The Chamber of Commerce, brought several matters affecting the district before him, also the. purchase of the Hawkes Bay Timber Company's portion of the Tamaki block which is being ruined by woods after the recent bush fires. The purchase of the Otawhao block was also mentioned. To-morrow the Minister visits the Piripiri block and meets the. Nonsewood settlers regarding the Raukaulatahi block.
