The House of Representatives fixed the duty on Oregon, and New Zealand pine, undressed, all sizes, at 6d per ICO superficial feet. The Queensland members strongly opposed the free admission ofNew Zealand pine, desiring to insist on the exclusive use of Queensland pine for butter boxes. Against this it was pointed out that Queensland was importing New Zealand pine for its own butter boxes, and orders placed for Queensland pine a year ago were still Unfilled.
