TOIARU GRAIN MARKET.

Wheat.—ln spite of the drop in prices in Australia, merchants here do not think the New Zealand market will show any decline just at present. Very little business has been done this week, there being more enquiry tlian buying and selling. A line of Red chaff was sold in Timaru yesterday' at 6s f.0.b., and this may therefore be taken as a .criterion' of the state of the market. Unless wheat goes down in Australia- to a point at which flour can be shipped to New Zealand at a profit, it rfc not likely the price of wheat here will recede. - '

Oats.— The oat market is firm, but ve, ■: little is offering, Gartons are quoted at 4s to 4s Id and duns at 4s" Id to hs 2a f.o.b. - ■ ■'. -, ,-... . Potatoes.—fl'lie market for potato :s lias eased considerably, 'only* £5 to £6 being offered for good" varieties on truces nx country stations. Only very small quantities are being placed on the market. LAND SALES. Guinness and LeCren.
