THE ROYAL GRAND OPERA

The announcement that Mr G;orge Muxgrove's Royal Grand Opera, Company will visit Timaru and give one special performance of Gounod's famous work. " Fauiit" wiil no doubt be received with great interest by music lovers and theatre-goers. Th« performance is to take place on Wednesday evening next. It is to hj regretted that only the -.one' performance can be given hero, but it is understood that the arrangements of the company -will not allow more. This will hi the first time in the history of Timaru that grand opera- will have 'visited it. All are aware of the brilliantly successful tour of this famous organisation through Australia- and the Northern parts of New Zealand. The organisation numbers no fewer than 120 odd members, including principals, chorus, orchestra, and ballet. The most favourite opera of their repertoire has been chosen, for representation here and this will be given with the same completeness as regards scenerv. costumes, and general production as in the large cities. The prices of admission are given in the advertising columns and the box plan for the dress circle and reserved stalls will be opened at the Dresden on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
