A DESTRUCTIVE GRUB

T i the Editor of the •• Tim irn Im vuld." Sir,—l notice tliftt ilie lawns about Tim--arue are looking very brown and bare, and I suppose most people imagine it is caused by the dry season and frost, but tli 3 real causa of the trouble is a green grub about two inches long that will be very active from now till the spiing while the smaller white grub is lying coiled, up till warmer wekther comes. The remedy for the green grub is to lay the hose on any bare or brown looking spot and run tho water for "ten or twelve hours. It will not hurt the grass as it is now on the spring but will cause it to come away fait and will force the grub up for air, and then bird-s will swap them up. Caroline- Bay will not have a blade of grass 'eft if this is not done. Even if the hose is run on a terrace it, causes the grub to come up all the same. I am, etc., ANTI-GEUB.
