The annual- general meeting of the Wai-rnat-e Agricoltur.il and l'asloial Association was "held in the County Council Chambus on Saturday. n '3O a:>d 4J members were proseut, and Mr W. J. The annual report and balance sheet were read. The chairman, in moving adoption, congratulated the muub.rs on th- succe-s of 'the past year. lie would like to seefurtlier improvements made to 'th j grounds. He also thought that the time had arrived when tha Association should have an office of their own. In vacating the■•chair Mr Hay.:> thanked member.? for their past support and said he wa.s sure that- if they his seece-sur in the same hearty way that the success of the Association was assured. Mr •E. C. Stitdhohiie was unanimously elected prciiilent, Mr White vice-president, and Mr C. Akhtirst was re-elected treasurer. Tlit roll owing coiuniiot-v was elected —Mes-r-; J. W. Haves, A. A hearty vote, of iiiauks was pa.-:-:ed to the County Council for the use of their rooms, to the retiring president, and vicepresident. The following new members were clett'c! —Messrs A. S. Klworihy, P. Afhby, lish Bros., Thus. Cochran:-. The Mar.awatu A. and I'. Association wrote asking tha support., of Ihe Aftociation in endeavouring to have show grounds exempted from rales, and it was resolved to help in tiu l matter. A boiiuo of £lO 10s was voted to the secretary for work done in connection with hist county bay. The secretary applied for an increase of salary, and it was resolved to grant an incrsase to £SO provided the committee arranged for an office where the secretary would have tixed hours. It was further resolved that the .secretary be allowed a bonus of 2s 6d for every new member lie personally enrolled.
