Subject to any necessary alterations mails will close daily as under: — For Christchurch, 6 a.m., 12.50 p.m., and 6 p>.m. For Wellington amf northern ports 12.50 p.m., and 6 p.m. Saturdays. For Oamaru and Waimate, 6 a.m., 11 a.m., and 3 p.m. For Dunedin, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. For Temuka and Geraldine, 6 a.m., 12.50 p.m., and 6 p.m. The usual winter service to Lake Pukaki, namely, once a week, is resumed from Ist inst., to 31st October. May 31st. For Chatham Islands, per Ripple, at 6 p.m. Saturday, June Ist. For Australian States, via Bluff, India. China, Ceylon, and South Africa, Continent of Europe and United Kingdom (due London, July 14th), via Brindisi. at 3 .p.m. PRINCE OF WALES' HOLIDAY. Monday, June 3rd. will be observed as a Post Office holiday. All mails for despatch on Monday will be closed at 6.30 a.m. A delivery of correspondence will be given over the counter on Saturday, Ist June, from 7to 8 p.m. The telegraph office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. to midnight. The telephone exchange, Timaru, will be open as usual. Sub exchanges closed. All country telegraph and telephone offices will be open on Monday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. only, and all post- office? will give a delivery of correspondence on Saturday, Ist June, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. W.
