At Bangkok large bonfires are. kept burning for patients who are expected to die. They are carried to th 3 vicinity of the fires to await death, and their bodies are then burnt. Hideous stories are told of sick people being carried to boats and abandoned bv their inhuman relations who arc afraid of infection.
