Ths monthly meeting of the. Committee of th - South Crtrterbury Jockey Olnb was held last- •eveninjcr. Present:—Messis J". H. Gninitess (chairman), Lowry. Gresynt. Scott, Lawson,- ami Dr Thomas. ApoTcrjy was made for Mr Mnndell. Maiur Lindsay wrote resigning his ?ear on the Cr.niniittee, being unable to at'end •(.reruns: meetings in the winter. —Ths was accepted, as from the end of the yittr (31st May). Ihe committee ou dates had fixed 20th -nd 71tt November and 25th ;ir.d 26th March. Thev would have preferred tin 27th and 18th. but that would inttifcrc with Wa-imatc- and Southland. Dates after Easter were practically taken elsewhere.—Th*r dates were approved and auopte'd. A circular from the Racing Confei encv covered soma recommendations by the judpes in an appeal case, regarding tfie in.-uir.er of recording the evidence taken at inquiries bv f-'ewari l .- into any charge* of fraud or inconsistent running-. The annual meeting has l«en fixed for Saturday, Jure 22nd. at tilt- Grosvenor Hotel at 2 p.m. Nominations for th-e new committee must be mado fouriee:: (iavs before that date.

Some- members suggested the committee should endeavour to"g«:t new members before the annual meeting. 'Hie secretary said there were- about 175 members now. besides life members.
