There was a» large atteudijnee of local people and a fair number, arrived by tlie special trainj-i from north and south. Both the trotting, events attracted big fields, .and the smallest field in., a gallop was five horse?. Mr Mason controlled the totnlisator and a fair amount of-business was transacted.
