LONDON, Februaiy 7. :Mr Keir Hardie, speaking at Llewydcoed, said, that the Labour Party/ proposed to authorise London and other large municipalities to undertake the business of buying -and se'ling coal, which would-reduce the price by one-half, raise colliers' wages 50 per cent., a,nd leave a, handsome profit towards old age pensions. He believed that a general. election would' Jje inevitable in 1908. Since lie had had' personal experience of income tax,. lie admitted that the middle class were entitled to relief,.
