10s to 13s 6d, merino wethers 12s sd, merino ewes 10s 3d. Cattle.—l 66 head were yarded consisting mainly of steers. The sale was somewhat irregular, but prices on the -whole were about the same as the previous week. Steers brought £6 15s. £8 ss, £9 7s 6d to £9 15s, heifers £5 15s to £7 12s 6d, and cows £4 12s 6d to £7 7s 6d; calves sold at 7s 6d to 455. There was a small mixed yarding of store cattle, and very little business was done at auction. A fair yarding of dairy cows met with a good sale.* best sorts makirg £6 10s 8d to £8 2s 6d, and others £3 10s to £6. Pigs. —The yarding was the largest for some weeks past, and there was an improved demand, all good sorts of both fats and stores selling well. Baconers made 35s to 45s and heavier to 545, porkers 26s to 365; Two lines of rough stores from the Chatham Islands, totalling 84, sold at 17s to 345, other stores made 15s -to 25s for large, lis to 14s for medium and 4s 6d to 8s 6d for weaners.

BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. DUNEDIN, February 28. Cattle. —201 -were yarded, principally fair to prime. Best bullocks brought £8 15s to £9 15s. medium £7 to £7 15s, cows and heifers £3 to £6 10s.. Sheep.—3ooo fat sheep were penned, which was in excess .of trade requirements. The result was that a considerable drop in values had to be faced; wethers declined all round Is 6d, best ewes about 2s 6d -and medium %uality 3s 6d to 4s. Best wethers realised 18s to 20s, medium iss to 17s 6d. extra good 23s to 245. In fat lambs' 1700 were penned and prices fell Is to 2s per head. Best quality sold at .12s 6d to 14s 6d, heavy prime 16s 6d. Pigs.—267 were penned. Values all round were maintained at last week's quotations.
