The Wairuna., from Newcastle, via Lyttelton and Dunedin, arrived yesterday morning. She lands Newcastle and Pelaw Main coal and timber. The Poherua and the Waipori are due ■with coal on-Monday and Tuesday respectively, the one from the West Coast, the other from Newcastle. • The New Zealand Shipping Company's Paparoa arrived from Lyttelton. yesterday morning to take a cargo of about 20,000 carcases of mutton, 10GO bales of wool, and 200: casks of . tallow.' She -will sail; to-mor-iow night for Lyttelton. In order to enable her to pass under the bridges over the Manchester ship canal, the masts,of the s.s. Ayrshire have been cut down. She has also been fitted with a "telescopic" funnel, the upper portion of -which can be raised! or lowered at
