ADMIRAL FAWKES IN DUNEDIN.

DUXEDiX. February 20. H.M.S. Challenger with Admiral "Fawkes on board arrived at Port Chalmers to-day. In the afternoon Jie Admiral visited Dunedin where he was welcomed by the Mayor in the Town HalL The president and vice-president of the Navy League waited on the Admiral to ascertain the time at his disposal so as to arrange a suitable welcome. It was decided to invite the men on the Challenger to the performance of ** l*es Cloche* de Gorneville'" by the Operatic Society. no suitable ball being available for a smoke concert.
