Helen Marks, a middle-aged woman, was sentenced to time years imprisonment by Mr Justice Edwards on charges of keeping a disorderly bouse and attempting to procure three girls for immoral purposes. In addressing the jury the judge commented severely en the City Council granting prisoner a lodging-bouse license, paying it was a. grave breach of public duty when the Town Clerk bad the police repixrt on tbe house under bis nose.

WELLINGTON, February 18. The Chief Justice beard several divorce case* .it the Supreme Court yesterday. lk-w-ie Duggan obtained a dissolution of her marriage with Jamea Duggan on account of his misconduct with Elbe! Hatchings. Frederick Wellsman Bought a divorce from Martha WeUsman on account ■of her misconduct and desertion. A decree nisi was granted in this case and also in the cases Mary Smith versus Sydney Smith, Louisa Taylor versus George Taylor, Florence Kelly versus Percy Kelly, and Margaret Sauvig versus Christ iaii Sanvig.

DUNEDIN, February 17. In the Divorce jurisdiction decries nisi were granted in the case of Oliver v. Ethel Morrii-cio, otherwise Fleming, on tie ground that, when she married Oliver she was alleady married to-Morrison, and in Buddicomb v. Buddicomb, respondent, a wellkoown jockey, who •was nww proved to ba an habitual drunkard.
