Mr Mason, the freetrade candidate f« r Ihe City of Londcn. proceeds to the poll with or without the Liberal Associations support. The latter has been awaiting Mr Balfour's address before -deciding the question of contesting the election. A petition has been lodged a«airst Mr A. Fell, the Conservative "candidate, who was returned for Great- Yarmouth. The petition alleges bribery and treating.

The Labour Representation Committee's report declares that- the election of 29 of its candidates necessitates doubling.' the .affiliated societies' subscriptions. This burden ought not to be imposed at all as tlie party is doing an all-national worlcj add the money ought to be paid out of national funds. ? l
The Nationalist Party in re-electing Mr Redmond, resolved that it was unable to enter into an alliance or permanently support any party or Government that did not make national self-government of Ireland a cardinal point. •
