The Industries and Commerce Department has received from the High Commissioner tbe following cable message dated London, September 28thThe wool sales concluded with a very strong market and a good demand for all descriptions. The stock is small, and supplies do not meet requirements. Market prospects are favourable. The value of fine crossbreds of all grades is Is OJd to Is 5d per lb, medium crossbreds of all grades, lid to Is Id; coarse crossbreds of all grades, lOd to Is Id; superior merino, Is Id to Is 4d; medium, lid to Is Id; inferior. 8d to 10id. CHRISTCHURCH GRAIN MARKET. Per Press Association. C'HRISTCHURCH, September 29. The demandi for wheat is still good, both millers and merchants being buyers. Lines that have been on offer for some time .past can now be disposed of at prices asked. Among the business transacted during the past few days was 3000 bushels of . bright mixed wheat at 3s and 1000 bushels of Hunters lighly sprouted at' 2s lOd, both ex store; 1200 bushels Tuscan and 830 bushels Hunters at 2s Tuscan and Hunters at 2s lOd; 2000 bushels Hunters at- 2s lOd, at country stations ; also 1800 bushels -whole fowl wheat at 2s Bd, ex store. . No oats are offering though they are wanted. The best offer for potatoes is now £7 per ton at which price some sales have been made, though growers ju-e loth to accept .that figure after refusing a much higher price.
