THE CONTEST AT MASTER-TON. Per Press Association. MASTERTON, Februarv 5. The result of the B flat trombone solo competition is as follows :—H. Oakes, Wellington, 98 points, 1; W. Siddall, Dennistcn, 95 points, 2; C. McConnell, North East Valley, 90 points, 3. The judge was well .satisfied with the playing of the winner, who was only two points off the possible. He recommended -.that the fourth man, Lamb, of Wanganui, 'should receive a certificate for his fine playing. [The Press Association agent neglected to send us anything relating to the contests in the afternoon and evening. We learn, however, that the Quickstep was won by Wanganui, Wellington being second and Masterton third.]
